Incident at CEC8

Summary

2002-05-13: The pilot of a Cessna 206 was returning from a local flight and had been given special VFR to enter the Fort Smith control zone so the pilot could land at Four Mile Lake. Before the aircraft entered the zone, an IFR aircraft, PLR 509, taxied at Fort Smith and the pilot of C-GTPU advised that he would wait outside the zone for PLR 509 to depart. The FSS operator received a cancellation for the special VFR and a clearance for the IFR but neglected to tell the VFR aircraft that his special VFR was cancelled. After the IFR aircraft cleared the zone, the pilot of C-GTPU flew into the zone and landed at Four Mile Lake without any contact from FSS. There was no impact on operations and there was no danger of the two aircraft being in close proximity to each other.
