Summary

2001-08-17: C-GJBA, a Piper PA-31, was on a local test flight when the pilot advised he was returning due to a right engine power surge. No CFR was rquired. No traffic was inconvenienced as a result. C-GJBA landed on Runway 27 safely at 2133Z.
2001-08-31: UPDATE Maintenance and Manufacturing reported that the aircraft operator advised that they have had some instances of the R/H engine surging during flight. The engine was recently installed after overhaul. The company's AMO apparently has the defect corrected, and the aircraft is back in service. A sticking wastegate is suspected.
