Incident at CALGARY INTL AB (CYYC)
2001-08-28: UPDATE TSB reported that Calgary Tower observed smoke coming from the right main wheel/brake of the Boeing 727-200 as the aircraft taxied off the runway after landing. AFF was called and the aircraft was held on a taxiway until the source of the smoke could be identified. Maintenance personnel determined that a small leak in a hydraulic line had allowed hydraulic fluid to spill onto a hot brake unit. The brake was cleaned after it had cooled, the hydraulic line was tightened and function checked, and the aircraft was returned to service.
2001-08-13: Calgary Tower staff observed smoke from the right main gear of CNX 706, a B727, as the a/c exited Runway 28. CFR was called to examine and reported leaking hydraulic fluid. CNX 706 then taxied to the ramp without incident.
