2001-08-07: At 2300Z, while enroute from Winnipeg to Vancouver when the flight was about 140 miles east of Calgary, the crew of ACA 3627, a B737, reported a hydraulic leak and requested clearance to Calgary. The crew later requested ERS response and advised that the aircraft would likely stop on the runway and have to be towed clear. Strong southerly winds prevented the use of a non-active runway. ACA 3627 landed safely on Runway 16 at 2326Z and was able to be taxied clear of the runway under its own power. There was no fluid contamination on the runway and operations resumed immediately. Six arriving IFR aircraft and one VFR aircraft experienced delays of up to 10 minutes during ACA 3627's approach and landing. TSB will be contacting the company.
