Incident at CHURCHILL MB (CYYQ)

Summary

2001-08-03: VIR 23, an A340 enroute from London to Los Angeles, was southwestbound at FL 350 about 100 NM north of Churchill, when the crew advised they were diverting to Winnipeg due to a medical emergency. The individual was a 24 year old female suffering abdominal pains as a result of recent surgery. An onboard doctor was attending to her. An ambulance was requested and was available when the flight landed on Runway 18 at 0043Z. VIR 23 had dumped fuel for approximately 15 minutes, from 60 NM north of Gillam until 60 NM south. No other flights were inconvenienced.
