Incident at PRINCE ALBERT (GLASS FIELD) SK (CYPA)

Summary

2001-07-31: At 1805Z, the pilot of Birddog 1, a Piper Aerostar, advised Prince Albert FSS of an unsafe gear indication on downwind for Runway 26. The aircraft made a low pass over the tanker base for inspection. After consultation with Birddog 1, FSS called AFF at 1808Z. AFF arrived on site at 1820Z and Birddog 1 landed safely at 1830Z. The source of the gear problem is unknown.
2001-08-28: UPDATE Maintenance and Manufacturing reported that they contacted the QA manager for Northern Air Ops. The gear problem was an unsafe gear indication caused by a broken wire on the nose gear microswitch. The switch was also replaced. The A/C was returned to service.
