Incident at SWIFT CURRENT SK (CYYN)
2001-08-01: UPDATE Aerodrome Safety reported that the Airport Manager confirmed that their Bird and Wildlife Control Program is in effect and that their daily airport inspections helps them to deal with bird problems on an as-required basis. In this particular occasion, the pilot has advised that the strike occured on rotation as he flew through a small flock of only a couple ""Robin"" sized birds. Although the bird was believed to have received fatal injuries, the carcass was not reported as having been found. There was no damage to the aircraft.
2001-07-24: WEW 1540, a Cessna 402 with just the pilot on board, was departing Swift Current on an IFR flight to Kindersley when the a/c flew through a large flock of unidentified birds. The pilot reported striking at least one bird, but there was no apparent damage to the a/c and he continued to destination.
