Incident at Vicinity of North Seal River

Summary

2001-07-20: The crew of UAL 801, a B777 enroute from New York to Tokyo, requested and was issued an initial 30 mile deviation due to weather in the vicinity of the TAGMO intersection over northern Manitoba. Subsequently, UAL 801 entered Edmonton ACC radar coverage and the crew had been required to divert 76 miles off the flight planned course to avoid severe weather. UAL 801 subsequently returned to the flight planned track at ALSAB. No operational impact.
