Incident at THOMPSON MB (CYTH)

Summary

2001-07-20: The pilot of C-GNDL, a Piper Twin Comanche, made his initial call 9 miles to the south of Thompson airport at 2112Z inbound from Winnipeg with an ETA of 2 minutes. His traffic was CAV 3718, a Saab 340 departing Runway 23 southbound to Winnipeg and C-GROJ, a PA-31 Navajo, holding on the south apron for departure southbound to Cross Lake off Runway 23. There was no conflict with CAV 3718 after departure but C-GROJ stayed on the south apron because C-GNDL's intentions were unknown at the time. C-GNDL joined a left downwind for Runway 23 for C-GROJ's departure and extended it for spacing. C-GNDL landed on Runway 23 at 2120Z.
