Incident at URANIUM CITY SK (CYBE) (Conflict - near collision (VFR or IFR))

Summary

2001-07-18: A Piper PA-31-350 with 5 people on board, registration C-GUNP had entered Runway 05 at Uranium City and was back-tracking to Runway 23. Another Piper PA-31-350 with 4 people on board, registration C-GWUM had just lifted off Runway 23 and flew over C-GUNP at approximately 40 feet agl. Once visual contact was made, the pilot of C-GUNP steered the aircraft to the left and the pilot of C-GWUM veered to the right. Both operators indicated that they announced their intentions and that both were broadcasting on 123.2 and monitoring on 126.7. Both operators advised that the runway in Uranium City is arched in the centre and visual contact of traffic cannot be made from one end of the runway to the other.
