Incident at CALGARY INTL AB (CYYC)
2001-07-17: UPDATE TSB reported that the B727-200 was enroute from Winnipeg to Vancouver when in the vicinity of Medicine Hat, AB, the main cargo door warning light illuminated. There were no accompanying pressurization or other abnormalities evident. The fight crew elected to divert into Calgary with AFF being activated by ATC. While on final approach into Calgary, the main cargo door light extinguished. Maintenance found no faults in the main cargo door latch and locking system. However, the number two latch lock pin proximity switch was at maximum tolerance and the switch was replaced. The aircraft was returned to service with no recurrence.
2001-07-12: KFA 277, a B727 inbound to Calgary (YYC) on a flight from Hamilton, was 15 miles east of YYC when the crew reported a cargo light indicator, requested ERS and landed safely at 0910Z. Two departures were delayed about 10 minutes. TSB will be contacting the company.
