Incident at IQALUIT NU (CYFB)

Summary

2001-07-10: FAB 001T, a HS 748, departed Iqaluit on a local VFR training flight with 3 crew. They advised they were returning to the airport because number 2 engine had been shut down and requested emergency vehicles be on standby. The a/c landed safely at 1957Z. The nature of the engine problem is not known.
2001-07-11: UPDATE TSB reported that the HS-748-2A was on a local training flight. The pilot instructor simulated an engine failure on engine #1. An overheat light illuminated on engine #2 (Rolls Royce Dart Mk 536-2). Power was restored on engine #1 and engine #2 was shut down as a precautionary measure. The pilot requested the emergency vehicles be on stand-by for landing. The aircraft landed safely. A faulty probe caused the illumination of the overheat light. The probe was replaced and the aircraft returned into service.
