Incident at KEY LAKE SK (CYKJ) (Conflict - near collision (VFR or IFR))

Summary

2001-07-09: WEW 750, a Hawker Siddeley HS 748, was on descent into Key Lake, SK on a VFR flight from Prince Albert. TransWest 281 a Piper PA-31-350, was enroute from Stoney Rapids to La Ronge VFR at 9,500 feet. Approximately 25 NM southeast of Key Lake, the crew of WEW 750 observed TW 281 passing directly ahead. The crew of WEW 750 immediately pulled up and to the right to avoid collision. TW 281 descended and turned to the right, and the aircraft passed with 200-500 feet separation about 5 seconds later. WEW 750 was monitoring 122.7 and 126.7 and TW 281 was monitoring 126.7. This airspace is uncontrolled and there is no radar coverage. Since both a/c were VFR, it was a ""see and be seen"" situation with no ATC involvement.
