Incident at CALGARY INTL AB (CYYC) (Overshoot/missed approach, Incursion - runway - aircraft, Conflict - potential, ATS operating irregularity)


2001-06-19: UPDATE ANS and Airspace reported that NAV CANADA will conduct a Fact Finding Board.
2001-06-18: The pilot of C-FTCG, a Cessna 172, taxied to position on Runway 34 at Calgary after receiving a clearance from the Controller. N5829X, a Piper Apache, was on final to Runway 34 and cleared to land. When N5829X was approximately a 1 1/2 to 2 mile final, the pilot advised that he was initiating an missed approach and was turned southeast by the Controller. N5829X landed without further incident on Runway 34 at 1631Z.
