Incident at WHITEHORSE/ ERIK NIELSEN INTL (CYXY) (Incursion - runway - pedestrian)

Summary

2001-06-11: UPDATE Aerodrome Safety reported that they contacted the Whitehorse airport manager. At the time of the incursion, painting of markings on Runway 01 was in progress, the runway was not notamed closed. Runway 01 was not active. Aerodrome Safety will be in Whitehorse during the week of the 18th of June, transit between the two aprons will be reviewed.
2001-06-07: The Whitehorse Ground Controller observed a pedestrian on Taxiway Echo. The firehall crew was dispatched. The pedestrian was intercepted at 1715Z and was an MOT personnel enroute to the apron. The Ground Controller later observed another pedestrian crossing Runway 01 at the threshold. The firehall crew was dispatched once again. The pedestrian was intercepted at 1726Z and was an MOT personnel enroute to the apron. No impact on operations.
