Summary

2001-06-04: The pilot of C-FDGH, a Cessna 172 with one passenger, was on a VFR flight from Great Falls, MT to Pocatello, ID at 7,000 feet ASL when the engine quit. The pilot carried out a forced landing in a potato field and the a/c overturned after touching down on the soft ground. The 2 occupants were not injured, but there is substantial damage to the a/c. The pilot thought he had four hours of fuel on board and was 3:20 hours into the flight when the engine quit.
