Incident at IQALUIT NU (CYFB)

Summary

2001-06-01: The driver of Staff 24, an airport vehicle at Iqaluit, was conducting scheduled duties on the south apron when he inadvertently drove into a parked DHC-6 Twin Otter, C-FASS. Approaching the a/c from the left rear, the vehicle struck the left rear door, side-swiped the left side of the fuselage and then hit the left main undercarriage assembly. There is no apparent damage to the left wing or strut, however, there is structural damage to the fuselage and gear. The driver had been trained in AVOP procedures and has a radio licence. He was hired in April, 2001. Weather was not a factor and it was daylight at the time.
