2001-05-31: UPDATE Maintenence and Manufacturing reported that they spoke with Air Mikisew maintenance on this matter. Upon notification, a company AME was dispatched to the site. A full powerplant inspection was conducted with no fault found in the fuel distribution system. A differential check was completed with no fault found.Investigation of the aircraft fuel storage revealed that the R/H tank was dry, with the L/H tank at 1/4 content. The fuel selector was found to be set to BOTH. The aircraft had additional fuel added on-site, a maintenance release was accomplished, and flew to base. The opinion expressed by the company was that the engine stoppage was caused by blowing a fuel tank, and a air re-start was not possible in the given time prior to the forced landing.
