Incident at Lake Winnipeg

Summary

2001-05-24: The pilot of C-FJOF, a DHC-2 Beaver, was enroute from Rond Lake, MB to Manigotagan when he landed on Lake Winnipeg due to poor weather. The pilot relayed through an overflying aircraft that he required assistance. The pilot advised he had landed amongst reefs and the visibility was poor. RCC Trenton notified the Coast Guard, which arrived on the scene at 0149Z and C-FJOF was able to depart safely at 0158Z.
