Incident at CALGARY INTL AB (CYYC) (TCAS alert)

Summary

2001-04-23: WJA 12, a B737, was inbound to Calgary from Vancouver on a heading of 070 degrees, descending to 10,000 feet, and the crew was talking to the Arrival Controller. C-GVOY, a PA-24, was southbound climbing to 10,500 feet, talking to VTA. C-GVOY was on a track to pass behind WJA 12. The VTA Controller observed C-GVOY to be deviating around weather and instructed the pilot to maintain a heading of 250 degrees. The crew of WJA 22 subsequently reported climbing due to a TCAS alert. WJA 22 was advised of the traffic at 3 miles and they then resumed descent.
