Incident at WINNIPEG / JAMES ARMSTRONG RICHARDSON INTL MB (CYWG)

Summary

2001-04-25: UPDATE Maintenance and Manufacturing reported that Skyward maintenance inspection revealed that the bushings in the lower drag brace were seized. As a result, the right hand gear-down microswitch did not fully make contact. Upon touch down, the switch made contact and a gear safe indication was observed. Quality Assurance has directed that the entire landing gear system be inspected, repaired as required and rigged prior to release of the aircraft. An SDR will be submitted
2001-04-19: SGK 335, a Cessna 414, was on final approach to Runway 18 at Winnipeg after a flight from Sachigo Lake when the pilot reported an unsafe right main gear indication. The aircraft did a flyby of the Tower and the gear was observed to be down. The pilot attempted to manually extend the gear, but that did not correct the gear indication. ERS responded as SGK 335 landed safely at 2112Z. No other flights were significantly inconvenienced.
