Incident at REGINA INTL SK (CYQR)

Summary

2001-04-20: UPDATE TSB reported that a preliminary examination found internal damage in the turbine section. The damaged engine has been removed for inspection and repair. Further information is expected when the engine is removed.
2001-04-19: ACA 3697, A B737 ENROUTE FROM WINNIPEG TO CALGARY, WAS OVER BROADVIEW AT 1630Z WHEN THE CREW ADVISED THEY WERE SHUTTING DOWN THE PORT ENGINE DUE TO EXTREME VIBRATION. THEY DECLARED AN EMERGENCY AND REQUESTED TO DIVERT TO REGINA. ACC CLEARED THE FLIGHT AS REQUESTED AND ACA 3697 LANDED SAFELY AT 1647Z. TSB WILL BE CONTACTING THE COMPANY TO DETERMINE THE CAUSE OF THE ENGINE PROBLEM.
