Incident at FORT MCMURRAY AB (CYMM) (Incursion - runway - vehicle)

2001-04-09: The driver of Staff 22, an airport truck, requested permission to enter Taxiway Alpha at Fort McMurray Airport, but before authorization was given, the vehicle proceeded onto the taxiway. There were no aircraft present and the operation was not affected adversely.
2001-04-10: UPDATE Aerodrome Safety reported that the Airport Manager acknowledged that he was the driver of Staff 22 and the Assistant Manager was operating the radio. Permission to enter Taxiway Alpha was requested, however the reply mentioning Taxiway Alpha also included the question ""Where on Alpha?"" which was taken for a clearance to enter the taxiway. The Airport Manager will review the tape with the FSS supervisor when he returns on the week of the 26th of April.
