Incident at WRIGLEY NT (CYWY)

Summary

2001-03-16: The pilot of C-FARQ, a Cessna Caravan, departed from a private strip in the vicinity of Inuvik enroute to Rainbow Lake, AB. The pilot reported smoke in the cockpit and requested and received clearance to descend to a more suitable altitude. He then decided he would land at Wrigley, where the flight landed at 0520Z without further incident.
2001-05-15: UPDATE Maintenance and Manufacturing reported that after landing at Wrigley, the pilots spent the night there and in the morning did a full run-up and pre-flight check. They could not re-produce the smoke smell and returned day VFR to Whitecourt with no indication of smoke. The aircraft has since flown some 200 hours with no incident of smoke in the cockpit.
