Incident at WINNIPEG / JAMES ARMSTRONG RICHARDSON INTL MB (CYWG)

Summary

2001-03-06: The crew of C-FMWM, a Beech King Air, observed the RH main gear unsafe warning light illuminate on gear extension at Winnipeg. They cycled the gear 2 or 3 times and obtained a green light. A precautionary fly-by of the Tower confirmed that the gear appeared down and locked and a normal safe landing was carried out. Maintenance checked for positive locking before towing the a/c from the runway to the hangar. Testing and gear swings revealed an intermittent/lagging down-lock microswitch. The switch was replaced and several gear swings were carried out with satisfactory operation and the a/c was released for service. An SDR was submitted to HQ.
