Incident at WINNIPEG / JAMES ARMSTRONG RICHARDSON INTL MB (CYWG)

Summary

2001-03-06: WJA 146, a B737 enroute from Calgary to Winnipeg (YWG), was approximately 100 NM west of YWG when the crew advised they were shutting down the # 2 engine due to an oil pressure problem. They requested CFR standby and the a/c landed safely at Winnipeg at 0353Z. TSB will be contacting the operator.
2001-03-07: UPDATE Maintenance and Manufacturing reported that the banjo fitting was found leaking prior to take off; the O ring was replaced, the engine was ground run and released for return to service. In flight, the banjo fitting started to come out of the gear box case. Maintenance in Winnipeg found that the insert had come loose. The gear box is currently being replaced.
