Summary

2001-02-16: The crew of Sundance 01, a Slingsby Firefly, declared an emergency during a training flight near Southport when they heard a loud banging noise near the rear of the a/c. They returned and landed uneventfully on Runway 31L with ERS on standby. Initial examination of the a/c revealed that there was a de-bonding of a seal on the fuselage that was causing the noise. There was no damage and the a/c will be repaired and returned to service.
