Incident at CALGARY INTL AB (CYYC)

Summary

2001-01-26: CNK 327, a Metro II, had just taken off from Runway 34 at Calgary when the crew reported that both engines were surging and requested an immediate return. The crew stayed on Tower frequency, did a left-hand circuit and landed safely on Runway 34 with CFR on standby. CDR 8471 had to overshoot to accommodate CNK 327 and some other a/c had minor inconvenience. The nature of the engine problem is unknown. TSB reported that the company is currently troubleshooting the a/c.
