Incident at ISLAND LAKE MB (CYIV) (Incursion - runway - vehicle)

Summary

2001-01-17: On Jan 12/01, the driver of RED 02, an airport truck, proceeded onto Runway 12/30 at Island Lake for an undetermined length of time between 1743Z and 1819Z. No radio transmission was received by Winnipeg FSS pertaining to this activity until 1819Z when RED 02 reported they had left the manoeuvering area. This same vehicle had previously been on the maneuvering area from 1707Z until 1743Z, at which time they had reported on and off as required. No a/c movements occurred during the above times from Runway 12/30. This is the third similar incident at this airport in the last week (CADORS 2001C0045 AND 2001C0046).
2001-03-23: UPDATE Aerodrome Safety reported that the provincial government regional manager responsible for this airport met with all staff. They were told that these incidents would not be tolerated and any further incidents would result in disciplinary action up to and including dismissal. The two employees involved received written reprimands which have been placed on their personnel files.
