Incident at CALGARY INTL AB (CYYC)

Summary

2001-01-15: While on approach to the Calgary Airport, the flight crew of C-GQCA, an A320 aircraft, detected the smell of smoke on the flight deck. The flight deck crew donned oxygen masks, continued the approach, advised tower and requested ERS. Prior to landing they received a message, ´avionics fan´. The aircraft landed without incident. It was determined that there was an electrical short in the avionics fan and that the appropriate CB had popped.
