Incident at FREDERICTON INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT

Summary

2001-12-31: ARN8603 FA28 At 70kts on take-off roll Runway 33, aborted take-off due to ""pop"" sound from left engine followed by a 20 percent reduction in thrust. Aircraft taxied back onto the ramp with no assistance required, and after further ground run-ups and consulting with maintenance, determined the problem to be the Constant Speed Drive (CSD) failure on the left engine. Aircraft planning to depart under MEL, after completed paperwork and adding more fuel. Nil TSB
