Incident at WABUSH NL (CYWK)


2001-08-03: At approximately 1820z ARN8725 requested if ATC was aware of any known traffic south of Wabush. ATC was unaware of any traffic. ARN8725 then reported a TCAS alert with an unknown traffic 20 nm South of Wabush. On the climb to 16,000ft, TCAS alerted to a traffic out of 9,500ft. ARN8725 took evasive action by immediately descending 300ft for approximately 30 secs. which cancelled the TCAS alert. Wabush FSS was contacted to request if he was aware of any VFR traffic in the area and replied negative. NIL TSB
