Incident at ST. JOHN'S INTL NL (CYYT)
2001-07-18: TSB update:A01A0077: The Fairchild SA227 aircraft was on the take-off run when torque fluctuations were experienced on the #2 engine (Garrett TPE 331). The crew reject the take-off without incident and returned the aircraft to ramp. Maintenance inspected the engine and were unable to find any problems. A heavy rain shower had passed through the area just prior to the occurrence and it was reported that there was a lot of standing water on the runway. It is suspected that the torque fluctuations were caused by water being injested into the engine. The aircraft was returned to service with no re-occurrence of the problem.
