Incident at CHARLOTTETOWN AIRPORT (TCAS alert, Conflict - IFR & VFR)


2001-07-03: ACA648 DC9 and ARN843 DH8 were each enroute to Charlottetown, estimating the Charlottetown NDB at 1450Z. Both aircraft were given radar traffic information. ARN843 cancelled IFR. Traffic information was passed a second time, and both aircraft reported the other in sight. At this point the aircraft were on crossing tracks with 500 ft. vertical spacing. Shortly afterward, ACA648 responded to a TCAS Resolution Advisory and climbed 400 feet. the aircraft passed on crossing tracks with 1100 feet vertical spacing. ACA648 was at 4300 feet, and ARN843 was at 3200 feet. Weather was CAVOK. Note Occurrence date June 21, 2001. Nil TSB
