Summary

2001-07-04: TSB update:A01A0067: The solo student pilot of C-GTDI, a Cessna 172 was landing on runway 29 at Moncton and, on flare-out, the aircraft was observed to ""porpoise"" several times. The aircraft finally struck the runway with enough force that the nose gear became detached prior to the aircraft coming to rest at the edge of the runway. The student, who was the sole occupant exited the aircraft without injuries; the aircraft also sustained substantial damage to the forward fuselage and propeller. Runway 29 was closed for approximately one hour.
2001-06-28: C-GTDI C172 doing touch and go on runway 11-29 in Moncton, landed hard and subsequently broke nose wheel off which allowed the propeller to come in contact with the ground. Aircraft came to rest on the south side of runway 11-29, 132 M east of Charlie taxi. No injuries to the pilot (only person on board) and aircraft removed from runway after obtaining permission from the TSB. Runway 11-29 checked for FOD and reopoened at 13:41Z. TSB Case Closed
