Incident at CHARLOTTETOWN NL (CCH4)

Summary

2001-06-28: Halifax RCC advised of possible downed aircraft in the Charlottetown Labrador area. An intensive Comm. search was initiated and was focused on an amphibious Cessna 185. RCC dispatched a C130 who flew over the pilot's camp and finally talked to him on the telephone. Apparently, the pilot did experience engine problems and relayed a transmission that he had to land on a pond. Upon landing, the engine was fixed and the aircraft departed for the camp making another transmission that all was okay. The second transmission was not received. Nil TSB
