Incident at ST. JOHN'S INTL NL (CYYT)
2001-05-17: SPR903 SW4 departed St. John's at 1036z. At approx. 1040z the flight advised of a right engine overheat indication. Crew monitoring situation and elected to continue to St. Anthony . No assistance required. SPR903 arrived St. Anthony at 1140z. TSB Case Closed.
2001-05-18: TSB Update May 18, 2001. A01A0051: SPR903, a Metroliner, had just departed St. John's for St. Anthony when the flight crew reported that they had a right wing overheat warning light illumination. The flight crew then advised that they were continuing to St. Anthony and that they did not require any assistance; the aircraft landed safely at St. Anthony at 0910 NDT without further incident. It was reported that shortly after shutting off the right bleed air switch, the wing overheat light extinguished. The flight continued with the right bleed air deactivated in accordance with the aircraft MEL. The aircraft continued the flight schedule for the day; however, the aircraft has not returned to St. John's due to weather. Maintenance personnel will inspect the aircraft when it returns to St. John's.
