Incident at CYAW

Summary

2001-05-09: CFQOH C150 departed Shearwater for a local flight on discrete transponder code. 10 miles west of Shearwater the code changed to 7600 and pilot advised Halifax Tower that there was no emergency and that he would be remaining airborne for another hour, below 4000 feet and nordo. No other aircraft affected and aircraft landed without further incident. Pilot later contacted ACC and spoke with the controller on duty to explain the situation. NIL TSB
