2001-04-18: KLM644 B747 enroute New York to Amsterdam at 40W advised shutting down an engine and requesting descent from FL370 to FL350. No Emergency, No assistance required, continuing on to destination. Flight cleared to FL350. Reported out of Gander area (30W) at 0710. TSB Case Closed with more to follow.
2001-04-20: TSB Update : A01A0036 The Boeing 747-400 aircraft was en route from New York to Amsterdam at FL370. In the vicinity of 40W, the crew advised QX ACC that they were shutting down an engine (CF6-80C2B1F) and were requesting descent to FL350. The flight was cleared to FL350 and continued to destination. No emergency declared and no assistance required.
