Incident at SAINT JOHN NB (CYSJ)

Summary

2001-04-11: CGJDI DHC6 departed Saint John at 1010Z. Shortly after take-off the pilot reported smoke in cockpit and returned to Saint John, landing at 1021. AFF standing by reported that smoke appeared to be an electrical problem. Nil TSB
2001-04-17: Update Maintenance and Manufacturing April 12, 2001. Maintenance had replaced the oxygen regulator panel prior to this flight. The lighting wires for this panel were connected incorrectly resulting in a short that overheated the wire and lighting rheostat. The 5 amp circuit breaker for the co-pilot panel lights did not pop. The AME who performed this task failed to test the lighting circuit after installation.
