Incident at FREDERICTON INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT

Summary

2001-04-09: DLH012 DC8-70 enroute IFR Bangor to Brussel advised #2 engine shutdown abeam to Fredericton at 33,00 feet. Aircraft reversed course and dumped fuel enroute to Bangor. TSB Case Closed
2001-05-15: TSB Update Apr 19, 2001. A01A0031: DHL012, a DC8 was en route from Bangor to Brussels when the flight crew reported that they were shutting down the number two engine (CFM 56). The crew then requested and received a clearance to return to Bangor and on the return flight, they carried out fuel dumping procedures. The aircraft exited Canadian airspace at 1556 UTC without further incident.
