Incident at ST. JOHN'S INTL NL (CYYT)

Summary

2001-03-12: ARN807 DH8 departing St. John´s while taxing on runway 02 for runway 29, advised Smoke in Cabin, shutting down and Evacuating. EFF called out. Passengers shuttled to Terminal. TSB Case closed with more information to follow.
2001-03-14: TSB Update MAR 12, 2001. A01A0019: Air Nova 807, a DHC-8 IFR from CYYT St. John's to CYYR Goose Bay, was taxiing on runway 02 at CYYT for a runway 29 departure when the crew detected fumes. ERS was requested, the aircraft was stopped and passengers and crew evacuated the aircraft. Passengers were taken to the airport via the airport bus. There was no fire evident upon inspection. The Company suspects a faulty recycle fan. (Part # to follow.)
