Incident at CHARLOTTETOWN NL (CCH4)

Summary

2001-03-09: TSB update Mar 8, 2001. A01A0018: The pilot of the Straits Aviation CGGBC PA32 was executing a crosswind landing on the ice covered runway at Charlottetown, Labrador. During the ground roll, the aircraft slowly veered to one side and came to rest in a snowbank ten feet from the runway edge. Deceleration forces caused a box of cargo to break loose, fly forward through the cabin, and break the front windscreen. The pilot was not injured and no other damage to the aircraft was reported.
2001-03-07: CGGBC PA32 while executing a crosswind landing to icy runway, veered approx. 10 feet off runway hitting a snowbank. A box of cargo broke loose during the mishap breaking the front window of the aircraft. No injuries TSB case closed with more to follow.
