Summary

2001-01-05: COA56 B777 FL380 routing 49n/50w at 0355z est 50n/40w at 0439z reported air conditioning problems at 0432z. Aircraft requested to return to Newark. ATC advised unable to issue clearance due traffic. Pilot turned off track and executed inflight contingency. ATC advised COA56 of traffic and reported that FL310 was open. COA56 decended to FL310 and was given ATC clearance to Newark. Nil TSB
