Incident at 60 NNW Gander (CYQX) (ATS operating irregularity)

Summary

2000-04-13: DLH411 and DLH420 were opposite direction and both operating at FL370. At approximtely 2151z, DLH411 advised the Gander controller of a TCAS Alert, traffic 12 o'clock at 20 miles. The controller instructed DLH420 to descend FL360. Following the Controller response to the confliction, DLH411 advised that he was climbing in response to a resolution advisory from the aircraft TCAS. Radar separation eroded to approximately 3 miles when 1000 feet vertical separation was achieved. Both aircraft were RVSM certified. TSB have been advised. TSB file # 00A0063. More info to follow.
