Incident at J.A. DOUGLAS MCCURDY SYDNEY AIRPORT

Summary

2000-03-28: CME120 PA31 after landing Sydney Runway 07 Aircraft came to a rather abrupt stop due to flat nose wheel. Aircraft cleared the runway after a few minutes. Nil TSB Update. Maintenance and Manufacturing. Pilot experienced vibration on rollout, suspected disconnected steering linkage & stopped asap. Inspection revealed tire almost flat & then taxied clear of runway. Wheel assembly had been replaced the previous day & pressure checked at that time. Tube ripped when tire rolled on rim & source of leak could not be determined. No evidence of puncture in the tire but it was destroyed from wheel damage during taxi.
