Accident at Fox Harbour NS

Summary

2000-03-24: CFRJZ ASTRA APX had flight planned into Tatamagouche N.S. but attemped an approach at Fox Harbour (just across the cove from Tatamagouche, about 8 miles) Shortly after commencing the approach the pilot called Moncton radar on 135.65 and informed us they had clipped some trees on there approach, requested direct Charlottetown, and declared an emergency. The aircraft landed Charlottetown safely at 0053Z. The FSS advised that airport maintenance found wood chips on the runway and the Aircraft had sustained a fair amount of damage to both wings.
