Incident at Stephenville (Aerodrome - other)

Summary

2000-03-03: Three authorized vehicles who were given permission on runway 09/27 in Stephenville were requested to leave the runway due to LAL8303 B1900 taxiing for departure. LAL8303 reported no vehicles on runway and departed . Three vehicles had vacated the runway prior to the aircraft entering and also reported one vehicle had radio problems. Nil tsb Update: When FSS called the airport via telephone to confirm the vehicles were off the runway - the reply was in the affirmative. The driver/s neglected to call off when clear of the runway. The Airport Manager advises that discussion has already taken place with the driver/s involved to emphasize the importance to ensure corrrect radio procedures are adhered to at all times. It was noted that one vehicle did in fact have a radio problem at the time the request to clear the runway was given by FSS.
