Incident at Halifax Intl


2000-02-21: C-GJSE C172 VFR Shearwater to Halifax Intl return Shearwater experienced a Loss Communications (Squawked Loss Comm). CG-JSE was inbound for circuits at Halifax at about 3 miles final was not able to hear tower transmissions. Tower was able to transmit to and receive all other aircraft . GJSE squawked Loss Comm and broadcast intentions to overshoot runway 33. When GJSE was in the overshoot the pilot found the problem was with his own radio and corrected it . The aircraft squawked his assigned code and continued with circuits without any further problems. Operational Impact : ARN813 DH8 inbound had been #1 for runway 33 and was changed to follow the C172. Nil TSB Update: This was a licensed Private Pilot. No flight training concerns.
