Incident at South of Halifax NS (ATS operating irregularity)

2000-02-04: FPG287 CARJ IFR Halifax to St. Martin FL310. Aircraft routing CYHZ CUDAS ELTIN Direct St. Martin. Aircraft was cleared through active military restricted area which controller thought was in-active. Subsequent checking of Daily NOTAM Summary revealed that the area was NOTAMed active 011000Z to 011400Z and the information had not been posted at the control sector. Check with military revealed that areas did not go active til 1100Z but this information was received after the aircraft had gone through the airspace. NIL TSB TSB Update: It appears there was confusion because the initial Notam was cancelled and then re-activated. Nav Canada is planning a review of their procedures regarding the review and posting of Notams from Maritime Command. Nav Canada also plans to liaise with Maritime Command in an effort to seek more precise timings on activations and duration of active Military Restricted Areas. TSB file # A00A0014
